Exclamation I'm really going to need a flamesuit for this purchase.

...but how can you say no to one of those little old lady situations?

Its a '96 Cadillac Seville STS with 126k. Rare Montana Blue Metallic color. No issues, 2 owner of nearly 10 years, and has 300HP going to the front wheels. Great condition, just a few PDR/buffable granny marks.

Why did I buy it? The sentimental reason: My Grandfather's last car was a '95 Seville SLS. He died 10 years ago, and my grandmother started driving the Cadillac full time, parking the 500SL (given to me at 16). In 2002, my Grandmother bought the newly released Cadillac CTS. The Seville was given away to a family member and was driven to a neglected early death. I have many fond memories of this style of car.

The practical reason: I paid $2000 for it.

Okay... Flamesuit on:

As long as you sell it fast and make money it doesn't matter.

I was actually considering buying one of those before I found out about the Diesel MBs. I was also considering getting a 1963 Oldsmobile 98 . And now, looking back, that would have been a good deal. It didn't appear to have any rust and they were asking $2000. Interior was good and it started and drove. Other than that, I can't speak for the engine or trans.

Wow, a 90's GM product that is more than 10 y/o and still on the road! That was good advice to sell quick though. I used to work for a Caddy dealership in the 80's. We saw the cars more than the owners did. Gasser's included.

The Northstars do like to go Supernova, don't they? From what I understand, most of ones that blew up did it early (less than 100k). There are a bunch of high mileage ones out there.

There's an interesting aftermarket company dedicated to these engines. Go figure.

That's about $1700 more than I would give for one of those.

Finally.

Let's hope there's a few people willing to pay a bit more for it.

Her name is Supernova, by the way.

I love that color If I were in the market for another big car I'd buy that one from you!

Not a huge fan of that body style, although I do like the Aurora that shared its platform and drivetrain. Cool color.

Btw, $2K these days will also get you a nice 1st gen Q45 with a (very) underrated 282HP going to the rear wheels. Gotta love the belt buckle Infiniti badge sitting where the grill was supposed to go.

Front wheel drive V8 GM Monstrosity.

Utterly horrifying.

It appears to have the same seat belts as a 1980's era chevy cavalier. And man does that car have an enormous overhang in front of the front wheels. Can it even take steep driveways?

As Jeremy clarkson would say, the designers had a bunch of bits laying around an a ruler....and that is what they designed it with.

uuf-- I won't give you flak for the sentimental reasons-- but 300HP going to the front wheels?! Sounds like epic torque steer to me.

The bad: fwd, older Cadillac, soft suspension
The good: great color, 300HP, swinging deal for the money

Looks like a great "beater", and by that I mean it's perfect for daily usage. Drive, enjoy. I like it.
