My shuffle that I got as a gift has been great.
I have those rubber extensions, otherwise it would be totally useless.

My kids have gone through about 8-10 shuffles over the years, the nanos seem more uesful. I never use earphones with my iPhone, I usually use Bluetooth through my car stereo.

Now it's inoperable, so I just trashed it. It seems Shuffles are disposable $60-$100 pieces of garbage? Nice work Apple.

Will goto Target for #3. Maybe get a Nano instead, thanks for the input kids.

I tried one like that in the 300L.
When it broke loose of the zip-ties at 8.5 Gs, it became quite a distraction bouncing around the cockpit.

I now fly with a Nano with a velcro back. No problems noted.

I am an avid runner and love the 2nd generation Shuffle. (The matchbox form factor with controls on the face, not on the earbud cord.) I'm on my fourth one, but they generally last at least a year even though I'm pretty rough on them. The warranty is a year so I've had one or two replaced free.

With aftermarket earbuds that wrap around my ear, the shuffle is perfect for running. I'm going to miss it when it's gone.

Yup, the shuffles are basicly free; they work for a year or so then just replace it. I have a draw full of broken ones.

yeah, they were $149 and a $15 gift card. I also have a iPod classic, might as well use it.

My kids have a iPhone, iPod touch, and a bunch of nanos too; they seem to hold up better. My iPhone takes lots of abuse.

Forget the Ipods.

Everyone of you own an incredible device that you already use as a cell phone that can play MP3s

Back in high school I used to use my old Motorola e816 as an MP3 player with a 2gb mini sd card. Remember when 2gb was nirvana on external devices?

Now I use an 8gb mini sd card on my blackberry. With my Motorola ht820 headphones (wireless a2dp) I listen to Pandora, my own music collection, and online radio stations. I have absolutely no need to own an iPod.

Eventually I want to up to 32gb. I've been waiting patiently for the new standard to come out. Once the cards get up to 64gb I can fit my entire music collection onto the cards!

To think that the mini SDHC cards are at their upper limit. http://www.obsessable.com/news/2010/01/13/samsung-hits-upper-limit-with-32gb-microsdhc-card/

I'm waiting!

Thats true, except you waste your battery life on music instead of actually using the phone.
