Fun jets- What's more freaky is being on 395 around Norwich CT and have one buzz you. I love seeing them fly though, almost like a jet version of the P-38.

I would have had a Code brown Violation if that flew that low above me... looks like you could have jumped up and touched it

Love that clip... there are some good ones on youtube. I remember a vacation at Avon Park bombing range many years ago (I think it was Avon Park, anyway); we would be out on the lake fishing as the A-10's made strafing runs just off to the side of us. Pretty cool for a kid who dreamed of growing up to fly Warthogs!

Those spitfires were (and still are) incredible planes.
On a side note, the Blue Angels will be here this summer, it'll be wild to see their show. I saw them in the mid 80s I think at NAS Brunswick, it could have been Bangor though. I just remember having to park about three miles out and they were doing a few demos, including a low high speed run right over the extended parking area. |

Years ago I was on the top of Mt. Mansfield in VT while the Nat. Guard was doing training- some hot dog came up the valley from Stowe (we were looking down at the top of the jet) and came up the side of the mountain, doing a roll so as he went over the top he was upside down.
Wise**s was so close you could see he had no face mask on and had blue eyes.

Sadly A-10s, Chinooks, Hueys and C-5s are about the only military hardware you see flying over CT.

When I was working security at Thames Shipyard in NL, I got a few good surprises. The first was an fighter going down the river at about 50', under the bridge and over the railroad bridge at about 5:30am. The second was some sort of ceremony at the Coast Guard academy, two choppers in formation with a private jet at about 100' right over my guard shack. That was one of the loudest things I have ever heard, and the choppers kicked up a bunch of dust in the shipyard lot.
