Hey, folks. I'm looking to buy a diesel wagon and came across this gem:

I talked to the guy and said that it's missing a component for the AC. The compressor is there and works (missing the receiver drier/accumulator). And it's an automatic.

Opinions about A) the AC situation and B) the automatic (as in, will I be replacing the transmission soon? He says it runs well, but hey, I can say the sky is green).

I'm unfamiliar with the movie 230k.

It is like the one in the movie. All US TD's were automatics. If it doesn't burn oil, then what is he putting in the fuel tank? Price seems reasonable depending upon the condition.

uh, rust around front wheel/driver door? (what do you call that thing, a quarter panel?)

Any rust warrants further inspection. I hear the AC is semi-expensive fix. I wouldn't know since I'm fortunate enough to live in an area where it's superflous. You could fix it, or go without. I drove in Georgia without AC for years when I was a poor student. The automatics in the 123 chassis cars are usually pretty durable, but maintenance matters. Based on what I can see in the ad, it looks like a decent candidate for the cheap wagon club.
