I got a "stripper" for my Birthday!

Take a look at my new toy!

(Sorry to make this sound so suggestive but I'm very impressed with how much fun you can get for 100 euros these days!)

I keep using my Craftsman gravity-fed sandblast gun and a cardboard box. It's kinda messy. Someday I will probably plunk down the cash for this:

I got the freestanding one, and like it. Wait 'til it's on sale and grab one of the 20% off coupons out of the back of Car and Driver, and it gets quite affordable!

Thanks for the smiley DJ - very nice.

Mine wouldn't fit a wheel. It is strictly for small parts. I've just blasted the front pulleys from my 300D... you can of course get bigger ones but the prices seem to go up exponentially.

This one I've got would fit a valve cover but that's really about it - anything bigger would be a bit of a pain.

Great idea - certainly a good size for parts if you have the space to store it. Unfortunately I don't have that kind of space here. I'd recommend sorting out some sort of filter system on your old refrigerator if I were you - then you'll have a better chance of seeing what you are blasting.

The cone design is something that I wish my cabinet had - then I could just kick the sand (actually I'm using glass media) back towards the pick up tube instead of having to stop and shove it into position:- But this seems to be the only downside to my entry level cabinet that I've come across so far.

Good luck with your own design. I'd be interested to see some photographs of the finished product.
