A non Political Politcal thread

This is an editorial I am going to submit to our local newspaper, but it's really relavent here.
It goes along with my constant rant, "Don't blame the republicans, don't blame the democrats, BLAME THE POLITICIANS".

-----------------------------------

Party Politics we need to eliminate it

Recently there have been constant editorials, comments from the politicians etc. about how the Republicans did this, the Democrats did that…
Maybe we need to eliminate party politics, even the Tea party. Elect people who will vote for the right thing for the people, for the country, not for their party, not what improves their chance of being re elected SIMPLY WHAT IS RIGHT.
As a bumper sticker I saw recently said “Politicians and diapers, both need to be changed regularly, FOR THE SAME REASON”.

----------------------------------------------------------

While not for the paper, an analogy I use is comparing religion to politics.
We are in Iran and Iraq trying to resolve the differences between the Sh_ites and Sunnies, here it’s the republicans and the democrats. Who’s gonna step in and try and resolve our differences.
There is really very little differences between their religious battles and our political battles.
We become so entrenched in our beliefs, compromise or reality for that matter, has no meaning.

That was Jefferson's original idea too, he soon found out that those with similar political ideas would organize themselves into groups and give themselves silly names.

Aren't there basic disagreements over 'What is right' leading to the rise of divergent political parties and unwillingness to compromise?

Socrates could not have asked it better.

LMAO!! I love the bumper sticker.

The diffrence between our politicians and the sunnies and sh-ites is they've been doing it a whole lot longer we only have 200 years under our belt. So they would be the pros in this case. They are also fighting over land and religion where ours is over laws and ideas.
Kind of like a bullet wound on their part compared to our paper cut.

I agree about the party politics but eliminating it leads back to the system of why this country was founded in the first place.
We need to either put in another party or the libertarian party needs a top contender .
