Just find a CLS500 Tom, its more then enough to make you think the 560SEC is slow as a dog.

I know it. I DO have to consider gas consumption, too. I don't think I can afford to live with 12 MPG in my daily driver.

Gas prices will only go up as the economy improves!
I have always gotten a little weak in the knees whenever I see a CLS. Can I get one with a 617 turbo?....think?

Where to buy!
Quote:
For anyone with their heart set on one, they should go to the Los Angeles area to pickup one of them in their favorite color. They are new enough to be found as gleaming CPO units on the 20-30 Mercedes Benz dealer lots, or privately. Many reasons exist to buy this "Beverly Hills Volkswagen" in LA ~~It is a car culture, the people love and take excellent care of their cars ~~The car culture mentality provides an abundance of dealers (over 20) and specialist garages, mechanics, car washes and detailers to make a very good living taking care of them ~~There is a huge overabundance of lightly used ones, so the selection is great, prices much lower than elsewhere and you can pick your color (they look utterly stunning in dark metallic red!) ~~The year long mild climate, about 75* all year, with NO snow at all, which means the roads are NEVER salted and slushed up, as they are, in the east, northeast, and midwest. This applies to ANY used car, but most especially to the high line models, like Bentley, Porsche, Lamborhini, Ferrarri, Mercedes Benz, BMW, Jaguar, Rolls Royce and so forth. Specifically the ultra high income neighborhoods like Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Newport Beach, and Laguna Hills, and Laguna Beach, Lake Forest, Toluca Lake/Hollywood, Malibu, Encino/Sherman Oaks, and East Pasadena are utterly teeming with them. Shipping to the east coast probably is about $700 - $1000 for it, and inside an enclosed trailer is best. A very cheap extra cost to get one that is mint, to your door; takes about a week with a good carrier. Though the best way would be to fly in get the PPI done and see it yourself and after you buy it, drive home which would be the trip of a lifetime!

How many classics are there sitting in people's garages and only taken out on weekends?
(I bet there are a decent number of low mileage late model W124 cabriolets sitting around)
