VWs this weekend!

No, I don't own VW, but my sister does, and she has always talked about the Niello Ranch Run as the car event of the year in Sacramento. Well this year I'm going to check it out. The local dealership Niello Volkswagen has the participants meet at the dealership early in the morning, then the CHP blocks off Interstate 80 and they caravan from the dealership to a ranch in Lincoln. They the CHP estimated that the caravan was over 5 miles long.

Here is a Video of last years even.

and the official website.

I wish the local MB dealer did something like this!

This year I'll be riding with my friend Michelle in her 2003 Jetta TDI. Sadly my sister Golf will be in the service bay at Niello for this event! thats what she gets for owning a VW lol

You should show up with your SD... show them what real German engineering looks like... and rides like...

How many wreckers and flatbeds are going to be onhand to remove the broken ones from the roadway??

I watched another video of last years show, filmed from the inside of a micro bus, and as they are driving down Interstate 80 the guy says "first ones down", and pans over to a rabbit on the side of the road! I thought that was funny. the drive for the event is like 20 miles. Come on, your car can't make it 20 miles. My SD with almost 400k can go 20 miles LOL.

Funny you should bring up going to the even in the SD. My sisters car is in the shop because the timing belt tensioner is making noise, and on its way out. Bad joojoo for a high compression interference engine... who would have built it like that... Oh yeah VW. she says that it makes the sound of a bird chirping.

I keep sending her pictures of oily 617 timing chains, cause its way to oil for birds in the timing chain.

Yep. Meeting at Niello VW at 6am and riding into the show in my friends TDI

If you want to go the show is open to the public I think my sister said its $3 to get into the show. The show is out in Lincoln off HWY193. if you want to cruse you gotta ride in a VW lol. My sister is driving her boyfriends 2004 Beetle, I think shes driving alone, so there is an open seat lol If you are willing to be seen in a Beetle.

This link has a map to "The Ranch" where the show is going to be.
http://www.nielloranchrun.com/details.php

I think the show opens at 10... but don't quote me on that. PM me if you wanna work something out. I'll talk to my sister.

If you are looking for me at this show, I think I'll be waring my Mercedes-Benz polo that Justin gave me

Nice!

"How many wreckers and flatbeds are going to be onhand to remove the broken ones from the roadway?? "

Depends on how many Mercedes showed up too... My Benz is the only car that's ever left me stranded... that includes my $200 85 Jetta and $350 400,000 mile 91 Jetta TD.
