Scrap it or sell it?

My boss had a 1994 S-350D, the mechanic recently told him that the engine is gone. He is not going to have it fixed and we are trying to decide if he is going to scrap it or try to sell it out right. The body is in pretty nice shape and it just does not seem right to take it to the scrap yard. I did check the prices at the scrap yard and they will give him about $450.00 for it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Probably the worst modern example of a modern Mercedes Benz, there is, a 15+ year old W140 rod bender with a bad broken engine now.

Not worth fixing at all.

Take the money and run.

Where are you located? I'm sure there are many members who would give you more than that depending on where you live.

Have him price out the install for a new motor and add another $1000 to it just to be sure that there are no Yowzas

The more cost effective route would be to find a non-rod bender motor to put in.

Was there not someone that put a 300SD engine in a 140W? Post in the diesel section, they will tell you what to do.

It's worth more than $450. and you'll save a very fine M/B from the scrapyard.

Post it on our "cars" forum for sale and include some photos........

I'd pay more than $450 for one in nice shape. And then I'd put a 617 or a M104 in it.

For $450 you could probably make a nice profit if you wanted to part it out on eBay or something.

Maybe it works for you,

But as the others have said: Does not work here.

It directs you to a local homepage of "charter" -- whatever that is.

You need to put a DIRECT link to Craigslist, if that is where the vehicle is, so customers can see the CL advertisement, not just you.

Welcome aboard, and please fill out the profile to depict your car(s) and location, (which looks like Michigan in the ad.)
