Other then Ebay is there a place to get a Decent Server? I sold off my poweredge 2500 and I miss having a computer to dump my data too and not being able to host some of my larger images... I'd prefer a server but I cant find one other then Ebay...

Why buy a server, I just build all of ours. Get a good server board, a good Power Supply, and raid some drives....I just retired and rebuilt one after over 6 years of service recently. It never had any down time.

www.epcusa.com has an Ebay store for used computers, if that's what you're looking for. The place does exist for sure - I've been in their B&M store.

But if you just want storage, can't you buy a network disk drive? That would be a lot easier and cheaper.

No reason to get real server hardware for personal use, way too expensive when you don't absolutely need it to be 100% reliable. I use a overclocking motherboard mounted in a 4U rackmount case as my server, Core 2 Duo at 4.8 GHz, its been 6 months since the last restart, and 3 before that. 3 TB hardware/software RAID-50 array of SATA drives for storage (10 320GB drives).

To put the hardware together for a server takes like 1 hour tops...maybe 1.5 if it is a beast.

The software portion takes far longer by far.

I understand. I thought you were talking about exporting via CIFS.
