im pretty pleased with the moderating at STD. winmutt was helpful enough to go through a thread for me and delete specific remarks I made that were only valuable to me, which was above and beyond any other forum ive been on.

So, if I'm moderate in my sexual behavior, I've got a good chance of avoiding STD's?

I joined that forum 3 times on three different emails never got an activation email. Bad moderating? Not sure, bad administration, methinks yes.

Probably bad spam filtering, me thinks.

Gee, With all that I banned my self from Schumans, I just couldn't take the bs any more. There was more slamming things than talking about the cars.

Henry sorta turned me off two years ago. On a trip down to Texas summer of 08 for job hunting, my cruise control amp went out. I needed to be heading back to NC inside of a week, and just wanted to get another amp so it worked on the trip back. Henry tried to talk me into sending him my old amp and waiting 2 or more weeks so he could send it to a guy out west to have it rebuilt - not an option given my schedule.

But that wasn't really what cooled my heels toward him - in the course of my phone calls with him, he kept mentioning that the problem was "all 300D's are cheap crap, and we need to get you into a decent SD", with an oblique hint that he probably had one for sale.

That, and outright badmouthing this area of Texas and some of the companies I was interviewing with.

W T F ??

With the quality of forum we have here with PeachParts why even drag up BS from shabby forums ?

This thread really has no business here at all.

I dont like Jeff (CEO) at Auctiva nor Auctiva itself. Should I start a thread about that issue here ?

That forum is kind of sad. Buncha guys trying to get a lot of power out of their 617s. I can see why it would be fun but it seems like its more of an OCD thing after a while.

I am trying to think of an appropriate post to this thread.

Think of it as a way for people to express their creativity if they have the fabrication skills and interest in vehicle modification. OCD? sure, thats kind of a good way to put it. A lot of the guys over there are in the automotive industry in some capacity, or have extensive automotive experience.
Sad is not really fair though, that kind of forum is a logical off shoot of any interest in any kind of car that had attained cult or collection status. Theres a forum like that for pretty much any diesel that is prevalent on the market. As forums go, its well structured and easy to use and navigate.
By that reasoning, I could call anyones hobby or interest in anything sad, which sometimes may be true when it goes to far, but most of the time is about good clean fun and putting your skills to use.

I like most of these forums, and MBCA as well. They each have a different "flavor" to them. People of like minds tend to congregate in the forums they most enjoy. I love reading about how people change the cars the make them their own. Its very interesting.

As for why the thread exists Tnbob, remember he started it over in the diesel performance section of peachparts first, then it was moved here. Most of the people who travel the performance section here peruse STD as well. Seems pretty logical to me.
