It's for the commencement-eve concert at my college. The music school does a concert the day before commencement and some of the theatre tech/design students set up all the truss and lighting for the event. The design is by the lighting design professor and all the rest of the planning, rental package and load in is put together by the students on the crew. It's two semi trailers worth of equipment we hang in the air

Two semi trailers is a good start... just wait until you start working with bands that have 10, or 12... IIRC, Rascal Flats was 18...

I am in audio, so I have a thing for picking on the lighting guys....
My last outdoor gig (NOLA Jazz and Heritage Festival) we had over 2 semi trailers, just for audio.

You know why lighting truss is made of aluminum?
So it doesn't rust before they get it off the deck

Oh awesome! Wish I could have seen. I enjoy concerts! ^_^ But I'm glad you got such nice pictures of this! Pretty interesting to me they get the students to do the set up like that! Got any final product photos??
