Help on Non MBZ ?
Hello all,
This site has been priceless in the years of ownership of my 300d and I respect the member’s thoughts and advice. So getting to the point I also own a very clean low mileage 1993 Cadillac Deville that I inherited from my deceased grandfather and living in Las Vegas it is becoming victim to the elements and I would like to put a car cover on it that will not damage the excellent finish on the car as well as being a high quality cover for it has to serve at least a year or so in the direct sun all year. My thoughts is with all of us car guys (or gals) on this site someone has to have or had some nice cars covered up with decent quality covers they can recommend or vouch for its qualities to help with my research/decisions on what to buy. Thanks in advance if you have some insight to pass on to me. P.S. I know its non MBZ but the 300d has to serve daily no cover. Respectfully, Arlo

there's a lot of high quality covers out there, you can search on ebay to see if there's one made for your specific model of car, or one thats close, to have one custom made is costly. If your worried about the paint, Add some thin layered styrofoam/plastic wrap under the car cover, that way there's a layer between the car and the cover

33 years ago I bought the best grade car cover that J.C. Whitney catalog sold for my then new '77 Corvette.
It had the white flocking underside to rest softly against the car's finish. It was a honey of a car cover and priced up in the $100.00 dollar range 33 years ago. It had loops on either bottom side that you could run a cable and lock it to your car. If locked, it could still be cut away from the car. I didn't lock it, and summarily it was stolen from the apartment parking lot where I lived. Even though I marked it in large black indellible ink with my initials. That's always the risk you run with nice things in a non-controlled setting. |
