I use my headlights in the dark or poor visibility, I use my fog lights if it's also foggy or there is lots of ground mist from the rain. Fortunately, I don't own any cars with those silly daytime running lights.

On the Jeep, I'll use just the parking lights and fog lights on a rainy day - those big searchlight headlamps, especially with Silverstar Ultras in them, can be as annoying as those from a semi when in your rear view mirror - so I can still meet the legal requirement for having the lights on when weather conditions require use of the windshield wipers, and minimize the inconvenience to other drivers.

Otherwise, I use the fogs as conditions warrant - bad visibility, unfamiliar/bad secondary road at night, or as happened a few months ago I discover that one headlamp has suddenly burned out.

Without trying to sound smug and superior, I generally pay attention to the road, traffic, my vehicle's performance and my passengers--roughly in that order. Trying to figure out if other drivers are sending me a message ( other than the easily understood finger salute) is beyond my care or concern.

What does it matter if all the people who put their lights like that were gay anyway? Clearly, here with statements its not true...but really, who cares? It's like those people who analyze disney movies to find something sexual or whatever in each one. Ridiculous.

Yeah, just the other day I was pulled over for trying to solicit sex with a police officer. I had my fog lights on. The officer said that, plus the fact I was going tap tap tap on my brakes made him pull me over.
