Well I embarassed to say this is in my neck of the woods... Folks must be bored in the summertime.

Now about 10 or so years ago the news was real slow. Some enterprizing newspaper person "noticed the lack of dead possums in the road" and came up with the theory that an unseen beast called "Lizard Man" was eating them. They kept that up the whole summer with potential sightings, kind of like the Elvis sightings... Pass the Moonshine, I want to see him too. 8-)
