People did not move during the Dust Bowl days because they wanted to. The only choice they had to was move or die.

Interesting indeed. Click on any county in my state (NJ) and it shows a net outflow, most going to So FL. Many retirees are leaving the state to avoid NJ estate tax, which kicks in at 675,000.
Red lines seem to equate, roughly, to the "red ink" financial condition of the departed locale. Lest we forget, population migration affects congressional representation. |
