My 17 y.o. cousin (in 1973) sold his 67 Mustang and bought a plane! Then I had to drive him around for awhile.

Try coming to Villanova. Most spoiled community of stuck up kids you'll ever meet, get just about anything they want from their parents (including free education). Then there are teh other 20% who kept me sane who actually earn things in life.

That original e-mail has been around for a few years - no idea who first came up with it. But still sound advice, irregardless of how RichC feels about it.

Family circumstances were such I knew there was no way we could afford the luxury of my having a car when I was 16 - we were just staying above water as it was. I put off getting a drivers license until my senior year, 18 years old, when it was necessary for leaving home and going into the Navy. First car was a '65 Mustang with a so-so 6 cylinder engine that lost oil pressure on sharp corners for $500.
