OTOH, prince is getting a bunch of free publicity by making this statement. I wouldn't have known he had a new album if I hadn't seen this story.
Cable TV is going to be next, now that I've got Net Flicks for eight lousy dollars a month, I'm wondering why I'm shelling out a hundred and a half to those f**ers at COMCAST. Local Digital over the air for free plus Netflicks vs 1500 a year for two hundred channels that never seem to have anything worth watching. Buh bye.

Same here, I have a media server connected to my TV with netflix and hulu, and I also have about 2TB of movies and tv shows sitting on a hard drive that I can stream. I don't bother with over the air because there is almost nothing on tv that I want to watch anyway. I still pay Comcast a bunch of money every month for some reason, about the only time I turn on the cable box is to watch F1 races; my kids watch a little tv, but they spend more time watching YouTube than tv these days. I expect cable tv (as we know it) to be gone in a few years.

Most young people will not have a land line phone either. My wife gets annoyed paying the $50 a month, but when the power goes out and all the cell phones go dead, the land line keeps working.

I have my landline because I want to be able to use a fax machine, it's over my cable line and I have the phone modem plugged into my ups so it will have power (for a while anyway). I do still have one wired phone that will actually work without power. If my power stays out long enough for all the cell phones to die, we're moving to a hotel anyway.
