Electric clutch on Husqvarna/Poulan/Craftsman
Helping my GF with her rider. Wondering how hard it is to change this. Looks easy (maybe). Blade will not disengage. Can these ever be repaired? How does it work inside? How do they fail? Thanks

It's pretty much like the clutch on an A/C compressor. It's normally not engaged until energized. Disconnect the wires going to it. If it is still engaged you have a mechanical problem, if it dis-engages then the control circuit has a fault. If debris has jammed it, it may be possible to clear it. I tried to remove the electric clutch on a friends
Cub so I could replace a belt, but it requires a special puller. I suspect your mower will be the same. |

Dealer says these are easy to remove. Says he never saw a seized one.

Sounds like it should be easy to fix.
