Thanks Joe! Like I said before, this is my second favorite color choice, and ideal for sitting outside.

My Denali was the same color and it was just gorgeous. I'd still have it if I didn't decide I needed a truck (which has gotten tons of use already).

The Dakota was my first vehicle ever, and I saw the one I had currently with all the goodies, and a great price. I bought it as a pacifier while I quietly shopped for another GM truck. Towing another vehicle with the Dakota probably wouldn't be a good idea for long term, but it could probably handle it.

I never understood the point of AAA, if I need a tow truck I'll just call one.

Tow companies charge $60 or more, so having one tow a year would pay for a AAA membership. Also, if you're traveling in an unfamiliar area, AAA will have a truck or contract it out to someone locally.

There's also alot of places that gives discounts. For example, I did not have to pay $20 to see the Imperial Palace Vintage Car museum/sales (had a few 300SL gull wings at my last visit) because of my membership.

OK, I've just never bothered to look into it and I certainly don't need another "membership" to keep track of. On the few occasions that I've needed a tow while traveling, I've simply called information and asked for a local towing company. It just seems like an unnecessary "service."

I think I have some type of towing coverage under my auto insurance, but I've never actually tried to submit a claim.

As an RVer there are several services that can be subscribed to when it comes to roadside service and towing.

Although there are several, the premier hands down leader, and creme de la creme is coach.net

For in the neighborhood of $99.00 to $119.00 a year, a subscription with coach.net provides unlimited battery jumps, tire changes, and tows of your motorhome, travel trailer, tow vehicle, and or your "toad" (a towed car or truck behind your motorhome is referred to as a "toad" in the RVing community.) All at NO CHARGE with your annual membership.

I do not know if you actually have to possess a motorhome/travel trailer to subscribe to coach.net

Whether you are with your motorhome/trailer in your pick up or car - coach.net will provide these above services to your car /pick up.

However, once I am subscribed with coach.net I can be hell 'n gone out in the middle of nowhere in my MB, and they will take my car to the garage/company that I choose, even if it is further than the "nearest repair facility."

You might look into this if interested.

I need to buy AAA, I had the 300D towed 1.7 miles to my house when it threw the belt for like $54. $54 was cheaper than the potential $2k but, I still wish I'd spent like $10 more and gotten AAA all year.

The thing is, AAA manages to make an profit on the average member. I do understand that they get a discount from the towing companies by giving them business, but I still think I'm ahead by just paying as I go for the occasional towing service.
