the service is FANTASTIC. Internet speed is great, tv quality great, phone clarity great. Billing/administrative is a COMPLETE AND TOTAL JOKE. The ONLY reason I am still with them is due to their quality product, and has absolutely NOTHING to do with customer support or administrative. If you call 5 minutes apart(or you and your wife call at the same time) you will be quoted different prices, different packages, different, well, everything. There is no consistancy, but I did finally complain enough to where my bill is less than what i initially agreed to, although, to this day, I really have no idea what i'm paying for, what discounts are applied, or what my contract is. Horrible company to deal with but they do provide a phenomenal product, I truely don't understand it.

Your experience seems to be the same as mine. Service is great. Product is terrific. Tehnical support is even good in my experience. All of which leads me to think they must outsource their billing to some half-assed company whose primary goal is to sour their customers on an otherwise excellent product.

I'm releived to hear i'm not the only one who feels this way. When our "contract" is up in 5 months(which, whether or not we are even under a contract varies on who you talk to, what time of day you call, and whether or not it is raining or the sun is shining), i'm debating between staying or going based on their administrative chaos. The only company more frustrating to call than Verizon is blue cross blue shield IMO. Also, Verizon Wireless customer service has gone drastically downhill as well as well. When i was with them 2 years ago they were top notch, switched back recently and am less than thrilled.....

Of course Ooma will not work during internet or power outages, but maybe that doesn't really matter.
I have Ooma and like it a lot. It works fine during power outages if you have a UPS. You can set it up to automatically forward to your cell phone if your internet goes out. It's no big deal.
My Ooma Telo system is fantastic but, I think the Ooma Telo Handset is junk. I use Panasonic Dect-6+ phones with the Ooma and that combo is nice. It's hooked to a Comcast "Performance" 12/2 line and uses virtually no bandwidth.

We ditched our AT&T landline and use the Ooma Telo exclusively.

After four months of trying to straighten out my Verizon bill with Verizon, they have turned it over for collections. Maybe I'll get somewhere with the collection agency. Since I work for the largest collection agency in the U.S., I know a little something about the collections laws. I will be watching to make sure they don't violate any of the collections laws. I hope they do. If the agency does ANYthing illegal, they will be also exposing Verizon to civil liability.
Be forewarned. If you deal with Verizon, you should demand that all business be conducted in writing or at the very least you should record every phone call. If you do record your calls, just make sure your tape is very long.

Let me just add that I have NEVER had ANYthing turned over for collections in 5 years. My credit history is clean as a whistle, and have never had trouble getting credit for anything.
