The bold should suffice. The lines were blurred during Bush's administration, and never should have. It will only get worse before it gets better...

You just singled out EVERYONE that goes to church, or Mosque. I have yet to see one religion in the US that is private about their praying...all houses of worship are open to the public.

Mosques are NOT open to females.

You DO know that, don't you?

Now that the Supreme Court in its infinite wisdom (a 5-4 decision being the ULTIMATE truth) has ruled that "Corporations" are "People" , so it seems that 100 years of legal precedent are swept away, and all hindrances on corporate lobbying seems to be completely removed.

Then of course are the very powerful "single issue" lobbies, - unions, guns abortion, gays ane all the others, that are both ultra powerful, and laser focused on thie single issue, on getting what they want and will not listen to anyone whose goals are different to theirs.

MONEY rules all. It trumps EVERYTHING else. I don't think our country was founded with this principle in mind.
How is other forms of lobbying any worse or better? What we are talking about is a representative who has sold himself out. Whether you want to sell yourself to 3 big donors or 50 smaller donors, you done sold out. Sure, Dems and Reps have different business models but ultimately, they done sold out and are corrupt. I fail to see how either way is worse than the other.

You should be so lucky. They help themselves, families, friends and what not way before you get close. But hey, if you benefit, so be it. Unfortunately, that is basic human behavior. We cannot fight it. We can try to survive it.

Yes, it SEEMS to all be removed. From the summary of what I saw, only a couple things were removed. Basically, in the past you could only contribute up to X days before while now you can contribute all the way to the end. Well, instead of giving you $100 BEFORE a certain date, I can give it to you up to the day before. What's the difference? Or do you see more that I missed?

Which is just as bad as the corporate "donors". They too have 1 or 2 issues and won't listen to anyone else.

Such it has been since who knows when. We have never been immune to that and probably never will.

It's been a long time before Bush was even elected. Religions have always been trying to gain power one way or the other. Sometimes they are more covert other times they are more overt.

True...During the Carter Administration, his religion and undying faith as a Christian steered many of his policies.

I'm sure it goes even beyond that. Even in Medieval Europe they had those issues where the church was sometimes more powerful than the state.

Separation of Church and State wasn't an issue during those governments...

True. It was a problem then and still is. Unfortunately, mankind hasn't progressed enough to realize it is a scam and I don't hold hope that we ever will.

Maybe so, but the Mosque where I have done some work has separate doors for men and women.

Too bad a person can rise up to that level and still believe in that crap. At least the current Reps have a stupid excuse that they are owned, lock, stock and barrel by the religious groups that were invited in by Reagan. What was Carter's excuse? Obviously if you are an illiterate peasant, well who can blame you.

There are honorable people on both sides of the aisle. If you assumed that the rally was only open for one side, maybe it was you who assumed incorrectly. If more conservative attended than progressives, that might also be an indication of something.

One thing that did stand out to me, regardless of the actual numbers was how clean they left the place. Compare that with a "normal" political rally and the massive cleanup required afterward. The attendees acted as if they were guests and honored to be there.
I would think that it would have to be open to all since it is on public property? With who GB is and how close we are to Nov elections I assumed this rally had political motives. Just a coincidence, my bad.

Yeah, right. The "my side is cleaner than yours" thing? Sure, they cannot buy talent that provides those slogans. Are you really that blinded by your side or are you yanking my chain?

That may be a directive from the Imam...not sure. I know the Mosque in the city where I used to live never had an issue with it...I asked the proprietor of a shop that sold Halal meats and foods. I used to go there for the Baklava...
