I would not mind being GB, minus the narcistic, arrogant dick head part.

money might not be everything but it sure makes being miserable more pleasant

The alternative is probably too terrible to bear. It would mean that one has to examine oneself to see what caused one to be in that position. So, I would have to do some deep soul searching to figure out what went wrong. It might mean I have to come to grips with the fact that I am not as rich as Bill Gates because he works harder and, more important, works smarter than I. Forget that. I'd rather say that I am down because the man put me down.

SWAG. Unlike David, for that kind of money, I would be as big a jerk as you wanted me to be.

Seems to me that one is black and the other white. I think there may be some other gray ideas somewhere in the middle of those two extremes.

Ah, you are in great company with your observations, a similar observation of a couple hundred years ago in out recent past comes to my mind

The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings."

Some people work hard for their riches others not so much. Yes I agree that much of who one is is under ones own control but there are somethings that are out of reach regardless. Not everyone can be Gates and not everyone will be on a curb begging for money. I do not think it is fair to say that everyone who is rich has earned it and those who are not earned their spot as well.

As for me, I do not think (or at least I hope) I would not be willing to become a jerk (as I thing Beck has) in order to gain riches. I have never been offered the opportunity so I do not know for certain but for now, I will say no. I have to look my self in the mirror. I am not going to help take advantage of people to line my own pockets.

Well, yes. Some are born lucky. HOWEVER, as I have said before and I will say again. Very often, when you are born lucky, you don't learn how to make the money. As such, you are like the guy who is given a fish. You eat today but never learn to fish. This is why once the pinnacle is reached, the next generation only goes downhill. At this point, they make way for someone more eager for success. This is why I don't believe blaming others for your mistakes is a good thing. When you screw me over, I blame myself for giving you the opportunity. More important, I try to learn from it. Or I could simply say that you are an azzhole and stop it there. After all, without you, I could be great and wonderful, right? Sure, the guy has some blame but like with Madoff, why didn't you get suspicious and do your homework? Same with GB. Investigate and see whether it is a good thing or not.

It is hard to know how one will react if presented with the opportunity. However, betting that the person will pick the worse alternative is usually a safe way to bet.

I used language like you indicated to soften my views so that they do not appear as offensive.

If that offended you, I am truly sorry.
you did not offend. you amuse. you use language like that as part of your suppositions. facts are preferable. "its almost like liberals want to take away glenn beck and sarah palin's right to free speech". can you show me where anyone "liberal" (what does that word mean?) have suggested any such thing? "its almost like" you are exaggerating... because you are. any honest critique of these two clowns is not met with a real response disproving the critique, or any acknowledgement of their continual prevarications. instead, attack and slur the messenger.

carry on. but don't think you're fooling anyone with a brain.

To quote Will Rogers ( or so its been handed down), "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people."

The rally title "restoring honor" is a good example. It implies that conservatives are more honorable than the left.

Is it your contention that the left has no such slogans whatsoever that might imply they are better than the right?

The word Islam means "submission". It describes the spiritual state of the believer, in fact, one of the reasons Islam is so widespread and spreading in the developing world is it's utter simplicity. To be a Muslim, one only need do three things: Admit that there is only one God, whose name is Allah, proclaim Muhammed as his last and final prophet, and state that one will live his life in submission to God according to the words of his Prophet as is found in the Koran. Submission to the Will of God is a spiritual precept found in all the major religions. I don't see how anyone who claims to be a Christian can answer "No!" when asked if Christianity requires him to submit to God's Will:

http://christianity.about.com/od/newchristians/qt/decisionmaking.htm

Since you seem to suffer from ignorance of your own religion, I recommend reading William James' Varieties of Religious Experience. Christianity and Islam are both Semetic-tradition religions. It's creed is logically simliar, altho the characters are different, One is to submit to God thru the Savior and lives one's life in submission to His Will by following the Bible. Same mumbo-jumbo, different cast of characters.

Yes, they are going to "restore honor" by "taking their country back". It is a message of divisiveness and disunion, in essence the introduction of third world-style politics into America. Beck, in the past, has been a big fan of secessionism. I think he wants a Mormon Utopia in the West and a Pentecostal Utopia in the South, and damn the rest of the commie-liberal-Nazi-Muslim US. It is a recipe for the destruction of the United States, and I think that is what this messiah-comples nut case wants.
