My best garbage picked lawn mower so far

I tipped the garbage attendant $10 for letting me have it. Ariens 21" self propelled. It sells at Home Depot for $600 at least.

It just had a bent flywheel key which cost $0.30

I am just going to use it myself though. Selling it would be a shame because most people will not diffentiate this from your typical Craftsman mower.

Mowing the grass with it reminds me of driving the Benz. Very solid and heavy. This one's a keeper. Just wanted to share.

My dad finds lawn mowers that people are throwing away all the time....usually all they need is a new spark plug or something.

He doesn't grab every mower that he sees....he tends to stick to the same model (I'll grab a picture later)

Actually, it is almost Pavlovian in a way. Since I fix and resell mowers, the dump is the best place to get them.

I pay the attendants $10 regardless of the condition. 9 times out of 10 i can resell the mower. The rest are parts mowers.

Everytime they see me, I think they see "lunch" money the same way Mercedes dealers see "early retirement" when some people pull into the service department.
