Breaking news - thank goodness the recession is over. Just put out today in the news. Too bad about 98% of the folks around here can't tell it.

More amazingly, it was already over a year ago. And here we were worrying.

Well....you're in what we call "Utah".... which explains the depressing as hell part...

get out and take a hike, it's free, and in Utah, it is usually beautiful

I thought we had known this for a while, the economy hasn't met the criterion for a recession for months. Is this just the "official" data being published?

I seem to remember reading news stories reporting that the numbers indicated the recession was over months ago. Maybe those reports were based on preliminary economic data? I don't remember a specific source.

In any event, recession has a specific definition that is not related to unemployment or personal income.

Its getting better, I already have a parcel lined up to buy next year that I'm going to be putting nicer colonials on. Let the good times roll Hatty wants a new Mercedes!:D:cool:

Now all I have to do is decide if I want a new E or a slightly used SL/S.:D

I do think the US is in a "recovery" at this point, but it is slow and relatively jobless. It will be a couple/few years before employment is back to "normal" everyplace.

The end of the recession merely means that "the fall" didn't kill us yet . . . and now we have to start climbing out of the hole we fell into.

Very true, that is essentially the definition of a recession. Hopefully, most of us survived the "soft landing" and are ready to climb up a big-ass hill.

All we need now, as Americans, is an enemy. Nobody climbs faster, strives harder, and accomplishes more than an American with an enemy...

Are we done worrying about terrorists already? I thought that would be good for at least another 5 years. Maybe we can get everyone worried about illegal aliens again, that was good for about a week. Has anyone seen a commie recently? Maybe we can get everyone mad at canada next? Cuba, maybe? I give up, let's just make up a story about space aliens.
