Butcher 1.: "Oh! Maybe we should put a windshield on this thing."

Butcher 2.: "Well, what do we have left in the pile over there?"

B1.: "We have the original windshield from the bug."

B2.: "We can just slap it in the middle of the blue blank in front and it should blend right in without too much bondo."

B2.: "Good idea! It'll look just right!"

Looks like a blue igloo with wheels.

I'm waiting for Luke to come out of the door after he finds his aunt and uncle toasted by the Storm Troopers.

looks like a ton of ingenuity and skill wasted on something that in the end turns out to be hideous. I think they would have fared much better using the civic windshield, and trying to integrate the flat roof sections more nicely into the round roof. As it stands, visibility probably is terrible past those enormous A pillars, and it looks like dumbo's ears from the front. Also, I wonder if there is enough air flow for the front radiator past the minimal louvers they have included. EDIT- I do see a air scoop under the louvers

Interesting how much wider a civic appears to be over a beetle though. I would not have imagined such a huge width difference between those two small cars.

Very strange.

There's a guy around here with a Hemi Beetle, but even he didn't bloat the thing out.

another complaint. Why would they do this to an automatic civic? Boring to drive, AND hideous. Thats a potent combination

VWs are much better blended with Subarus. Use an adapter and bus transaxle, EJ22, put in the seats from the Legacy you tanked the engine from, and have at it. Maybe even track down a Porsche transmission or at least 5th gear assembly, and you'll be all set. Cooling is a pain, usually you mount the radiator to the inside of the engine hatch, with some ductwork from the wheelwells to help cool it, but it's very doable.

Holy freaking blindspot.

I don't understand how an auto 1.5 is an improvement over a manual 1.6 lol.
