male to male question...not what you think

i bought some tools and in the box there was a male-to-male cigarette light adapter. i can't think of what this would be used for?? you plug it in and you end up with a male plug on the other end, but what does it plug into from there...i'm sure there is a simple answer, but i'm not aware of what accepts this male plug....except another lighter!

I have seen similar devices used to charge another car's battery. Not sure if they work.

Also used to keep computer/radio/clock memory alive during a battery change.

I suppose if you had long enough time to wait you could recharge a car battery.

Let's see, at 10 amps, 12 volts minus the resistance of the longer wire and you need a minimum of 300 cranking amps at 11.0 volts to turn over the starter........ Yup! About 1.5 tanks of fuel in the charging car should just about do it!

Same here, you can use it to slowly recharge the jump pack while driving, or to keep power on the car's accessories while the battery is disconnected.
