Refused operative treatment, died three months later, and very much not a nice way to go. I wonder if financial pressure caused him to refuse the treatment.

Would you want treatment for a case like that? I wouldn't. You might live for several years more but what would it take in terms of tissue removal to cure the angiosarcoma? What would be left of you might be a drooling idiot in a nursing home.
