Almost got clipped last night

A dumb college girl on a cell phone trying to beat a left turn light almost clipped me last night. My light had just turned green and had I not waited a couple of seconds before moving, she would have clipped me.

I think from now on, I will wait a few seconds before driving on after the light turns green. It made me realize what a difference a few seconds can make. Had she hit me last night, I would be on the phone dealing with the insurance company and body shop right now. It would have ruined my Friday.

You were really lucky! I agree with waiting to make sure the cost is clear. My wife makes fun of me for waiting extra time at lights and stop signs. I especially wait extra time at a four way stop. Living in Northern Virginia, it seems everyone is ready to smash me and my cars up!

I hope you have reported her for running a red & using her mobile while driving.
The phone companies over here have been installing extra towers so that there is good coverage on the highways. Too bad if you live a few miles off them, you miss out.
Best you look after the baby Benz !!

My town also does not require bicycles to have lights at night which is extremely dangerous.

I've seen a people riding bikes at night wearing dark clothing with headphones on. Can they get any dumber than that? Talk about asking for a Darwinian moment.

for some strange reason, some towns and cities give bicyclists special status. hopefully you never hit one because the lawyers will come out of the woodwork to come after you. if you ask me, the streets and highways were designed for cars and trucks, not for bicycles.

As backwards as my native state is in many matters...

In Georgia Bicyclists MUST obey the same Traffic rules as automobiles.

(Of course it'll be a Cold,Cold,Cold day in Kingston when that actually happens)
