So, if Larry (and possibly you) are going to continue to hold minority opinions of what is socially acceptable in america during this century you both really only have two choices; express your opinions and be prepared for the obvious responses, or don't express your opinions on a public forum.

I don't consider Larry an attention whore, he is simply a man who will not compromise his beliefs and convictions. There are not many like that anymore. Most people will sell out in a New York minute and change with the wind. He doesn't appear to be amongst those.

The children see it and because it is on television, they assume it is acceptable behavior. Once the line has been crossed, what's next?

I certainly hope so. I'm very glad that my kids did not grow up in an era when discrimination was considered acceptable. My kids also understood that we had gay friends when they were old enough to understand what that meant. Hopefully, the next generation will have fewer bigots.

Really? If that is so, why the announcement that he will be asking to be permanently removed from Peachparts? If I wanted to leave, I would think the simpler way is to simply go. Why do I have to say "FU. I am going to ask to be removed."? Nobody is asking him to compromise anything. How is this different than someone with a knife threatening to slit their wrists? When I told her to do it lengthwise and sit in a hot bath, she changed her mind. Is there a difference?

Unfortunately, a lot of people don't understand that we now live in a world controlled by degenerates. This didn't happen overnight, it took time. In the 1940s and 50's there is no way a Negro would have had a major network television show and no way he could have kissed a white woman on prime time TV.

Fast forward to the progressive 70's and on and suddenly it is acceptable behavior for the viewing audience. People who aren't into today's pro black trends may be considered 'yesterday' or 'not with the program', etc. or 'discriminatory'

He can have whatever beliefs or convictions he likes, I don't really care if he believes in the easter bunny. However, he cannot rant against those who do not share his beliefs on a public forum without expecting a response. This is especially true when he chooses to have a belief system that would be more appropriate in the 18th century than the 21st century.

I'm sorry that the world has moved away from what he believes and that he is unable or unwilling to change, but that is his problem. My mother-in-law, who is nearly 80 will still tell you why she feels interracial couples are "wrong." She is a product of a place and time when that opinion was the norm, she simply has not kept up with societal norms. She is free to continue to believe what she likes.

There is a difference between my respecting your right to have an opinion vs my agreeing with you. I respect his right to have an opinion. I don't agree with it. I may challenge it but nobody is saying he cannot speak because we disagree with it.
