LOST FORUM MEMBER

I noticed Larry Bible has withdrew his membership.

It seems that he rubbed some people the wrong way at times, but I never had any problem communicateing with him.

I believe that in some way, he gave me an idea of what my father would have been like, spoke like...had my father remained alive.

Does anyone here have info as to what made Larry decide to leave Forum?

That might have something to do with it.

Larry posted A LOT of great repair advice on the Tech Forum, I have gotten a lot of help from many of his posts to do repairs to my 300E.

It's always weird to see seemingly normal, rational sounding gentlemen on the technical boards turn into frothing at the mouth kooks on OD.

As others have said, a wonderful gentleman when it came to technical help but lately was really upset about political things.

This site is really going to suffer from his loss. It's too bad he let things get to him like he did.
There are some people here who should be ashamed of themselves by the way they treated him though.

Larry's membership withdrawal has so far consisted of him posting the term "Membership Withdrawn" while still retaining the rights and ability to post on this forum at anytime. His membership is as active as any member who has so far posted on this thread. Imagine an insecure man faking his own death in order to see who attends his funeral and to hear how pretty a eulogy is delivered and you have our Larry/Lazerus.

I have made three requests to have my name permanently removed from the Members List and it still hasn't happened. Since you have been so adament in hammering me and piling on at every turn and clearly want me gone, how about sending a request to the moderators and/or webmaster to remove my membership.

With your caustic attitude you can probably get more results in one request than I have been able to get in several days. In fact if you start a petition, I expect you can get plenty of signatures and get it done quicker than I've been able to make it happen.

You who dislike/disagree with Larry B need to back off. Agitating someone to the extent that they leave the board is ludicrous. This is NOT Pirate 4x4, but if it was, I can assure that those of you who get so spun up and offended by differing opinions who rarely raise your head there. Quit bullying people. Point being, we can all disagree and act in a civil manner. I like to argue, so no problem there, but personal attacks like what yall did to Larry is not ok, unless you want and the mods let reciprocal action occur. Bare knuckles is ok with me, if it goes both ways.

As many members have said in many occasions, you don't like it don't read it. It is about a personal choice. You want to go, just go. What is this crying about??? After crying earlier that you were given several infractions, now you are crying that you want to go and no one is letting you go???
I've got news for you....NO ONE is holding you. Who cares if your user name still in the database or not??

I've never exchanged any words or postings with you, so I don't really know you but please be a man, stop crying...

OD is a fun diversion but I, too, try like hell to avoid the politics. I do tend to read the political posts, and sometimes get riled up one way or the other, but just don't post. Some find the debate fun, some take it too seriously. And since I'm here for MB help when I need it, the last thing I want to do is piss off someone who might have the answer I'm looking for.

There are many here who come across as the Radical Right or the Looney Left (some probably really are and others probably just enjoy sticking it to the other side) that have political beliefs diametrically opposed to mine; but I'd still like to sit down around a table or firepit, drink some beers or brown liquor and b.s. about anything EXCEPT religion and politics and probably get along famously. In person they are probably very reasonable people. But in the filter-free world of the internet, and its accompanying anonymity, it doesn't take much for a chit storm to start.
