I have 100's of cooworkers in Germany and Austria and I think the world of them but the first post didnt ask for commentary on Germans in general

lighten up Francis: nobody is dissing the "master race" here, just saying that the FRG looks mostly inwards, not out. However, when the extremism that is about to boil over in Europe occurs, you can bet the Germans will do their part...

Now there is a subject we can all agree on ....the germans may not have invented beer but they certainly have raised it to its highest levels..
..(though the dutch do a fine job with it too!).
