perhaps you should read the original posting. it had everything to do with German military and European military in general. why not spend some effort adding to a discussion rather than attacking those you do not agree with. I have 100's of cooworkers in Germany and Austria and I think the world of them but the first post didnt ask for commentary on Germans in general

lighten up Francis: nobody is dissing the "master race" here, just saying that the FRG looks mostly inwards, not out. However, when the extremism that is about to boil over in Europe occurs, you can bet the Germans will do their part...

I know that is right: beer purity laws and every hamlet has their own brew, it seems.....das is gutte!

Now there is a subject we can all agree on ....the germans may not have invented beer but they certainly have raised it to its highest levels..

..(though the dutch do a fine job with it too!).

There's no doubt Germans who immigrated did indeed contribute. That's not in dispute.

It's what the Germans did who stayed in Germany, and how they acted, and evolved, that is the issue for me.

The Germans who left were the ones who felt they had nothing to lose by risking everything to come to the US, so we got the best, the brightest, the most fearless. Those who were not so inclined stayed where they were.
