Why doesn't Check Spell stay checked?

BTW: This only happens on my laptop. It is always checked on my PC.

You will have to narrow this down for us. Does not work in FF, word processor....what?

It doesn't work anywhere. When typing this reply i RT. clicked and check spelling was not checked.If i add the check,it will stay checked only on the page i checked it on. I just posted this reply and went to my gmail>compose and it was unchecked.

I am running FF on both computers. So that is not the problem.
