OK, you're good there. If it said: "Pegatron" Truckee v 1.3, you'd be in trouble.

Integrated graphics rarely are the reason for a PC failing, unless some sort of heat issue or heat sink damage occurred. There's something else wrong with it.

Did you open it up and dust out everything? While your in there look at heat sinks on the board and ensure that they're all fully attached. My dad's Sony Vaio had a chipset heat sink that was detached and it was causing some problems.

Download a hardware monitor to check your various temperatures.

SpeedFan
HW Monitor, http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
CoreTemp, http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

See what temperatures your components are running at. Maybe CPU is over heating...

Also check the event logs and see if anything in there might be indicative of failure.

My one Windows 7 box will occasionally lock up and take forever to unlock. I attribute this to the dual 9800GTX+'s that are sandwiched together with little ability to displace air. Will be remedied soon..

If it still misbehaves after dusting and you've checked the event logs and they seem alright. Try running a memory test to see if the memory is good. Windows 7 has its own built in to the bootloader somewhere IIRC or you can use memtest86. Then you can run some Prime95 to choke up the CPU, open up some sort of hardware temp monitor to observe cpu temps.

I have a Tyan S2462 machine with dual 1.6Ghz AMD MP processors and 1GB of PC2100 ram that was built in 2000 and it runs windows 7 with full aero perfectly fine for most things.

How long ago did he sell it to you and for how much? Was it used at the time?

Stop:

Click on the orb and type in "Event Viewer".

Load up the error log and look for the most recent red exclamation point. That is the cause of your crash.

Also turn off the "instant restart on crash" option. If my computer crashes I want to see the blue screen error!
