Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

And I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
Since when does any 1/2 intelligent person base serious comment about any worthwhile topic on the rantings of a couple of self confessed drug F##KED individuals.
Both Jagger & Richards have admitted that most of their lyrics were written while they were stoned. I would think that I would have to be in a similar state of mind before I would be quoting such stuff as a credible argument.

Just because some one is popular, it doesnt mean they have knowledge of a topic.

We have a federal politician here in Australia, an ex rock singer, he is very popular because his groups music contained much social comment. He entered politics with much fanfare, everything he has been in charge of has been a total disaster. People have lost their life because of his incompetence & lack of leadership. He has been demoted & demoted within the government ranks.

It takes more that a few catchy lyrics to solve a nations problems.

Police Seize ‘Large Amount’ Of Weapons From Blogger Who Praised Gifffords Shooting: ‘1 Down And 534 To Go’

Police in Arlington, MA this week seized a “large amount” of weapons and ammunition from local businessman Travis Corcoran after he wrote a blog post threatening U.S. lawmakers in the wake of the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ). In a post on his blog (which has since been removed) titled “1 down and 534 to go” — 1 referring to Giffords and 534 referring to the rest of the House of Representatives and the Senate — Corcoran applauded the shooting of Giffords and justified the assassination of lawmakers because he argued the federal government has grown far beyond its constitutional limits. “It is absolutely, absolutely unacceptable to shoot indiscriminately. Target only politicians and their staff and leave regular citizens alone,” he wrote in the post.
“We certainly take this as a credible threat,” Arlington police Captain Robert Bongiorno told reporters, adding that “multiple federal law enforcement agencies” were involved. Authorities also suspended Corcoran’s gun license, though he is currently not facing any charges.
Corcoran calls himself “an anarcho-capitalist” and while his blog has been taken down, based on his Twitter page, he appears to hold views similar to those of many in the anti-government libertarian wing of the conservative movement, like many tea party activists. Anarcho-capitalism is a radical subset of libertarianism, and is often referred to as “libertarian-anarchy.” For example, echoing calls from many on the right, Corcoran tweeted, “it is unconstitutional for the Feds to even run a department of education.”
In a Twitter exchange with reporter Laura Leslie, Corcoran lays out a conventional anti-government philosophy, and explains in depth why he views assassination as legitimate:
“I assert that the US federal gov has grown unconstitutionally large, and the legislature exceeds the powers delegated to it by the people,” Corcoran wrote. “As per the Declaration of Indep, when a gov becomes destructive those ends, it may be abolished,” he continued, “and the most moral approach is that which spares the maximum number of lives. Thus, assasination is a legitimate tool.
He goes on to further justify assassination as “morally legitimate,” citing “Catholic Just War doctrine” among other theories, and explains, “It’s illegal, yes, but it’s not un-American. America was founded on the idea of shooting gov officials. Lexington Concord!” In another tweet, he writes, “I disagree with murder. …but shooting politicians who pass illegitimate, unconstitutional laws is not murder.” And in case there’s any doubt about his sincery, he writes, “Nope, it’s not a joke. I’m 100% serious.”
He also appears to be a fan of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), re-tweeting a positive message about him in May: “Lefties: Before you start fringe-baiting Rand Paul, note that he’s better on civil liberties than most Democratic senators. And Obama.” He seems to dislike liberals, writing, “You so-called liberals make me laugh – you’re all for free speech until someone disagrees, then it’s ‘report him!’” He also accuses the Daily Kos of “Stalinism.

Radio host Glenn Beck "thinking about killing Michael Moore"
May 18, 2005 6:04 pm ET
http://www.mediamatters.org

Clear Channel radio host Glenn Beck said he was "thinking about killing [filmmaker] Michael Moore" and pondered whether "I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it," before concluding: "No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out -- is this wrong?"

From the May 17 broadcast of The Glenn Beck Program:

BECK: Hang on, let me just tell you what I'm thinking. I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I'm wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out -- is this wrong? I stopped wearing my What Would Jesus -- band -- Do, and I've lost all sense of right and wrong now. I used to be able to say, "Yeah, I'd kill Michael Moore," and then I'd see the little band: What Would Jesus Do? And then I'd realize, "Oh, you wouldn't kill Michael Moore. Or at least you wouldn't choke him to death." And you know, well, I'm not sure.
Beck's program is syndicated by Premiere Radio Networks (owned by radio conglomerate Clear Channel Communications) on more than 160 radio stations across the country to an estimated audience of 6 million listeners. He has previously falsely accused Moore of "taking help and money from Hezbollah" and called Michael Berg, who criticized the Bush administration after his son Nick was beheaded in Iraq, "despicable" and "a scumbag."

[Michael Savage] My rage has reached a boil. If they keep pushing us around, and if we keep having these schmucks running for office catering to the multicultural people who are destroying the culture of this country ... Guaranteed. The people -- the white male in particular -- let me talk specifically. The white male in particular -- the one without connections, the one without money -- has nothing to lose, and you haven't seen him yet. You haven't seen him explode in this country, and he's still a majority, by the way. In case you don't know it. He is still the majority. No one speaks for him. Everyone craps on him. People use him for cannon fodder. And he has no voice whatsoever. He has nobody speaking for him.

So he goes to these extreme fighting events. Take a look at them, and you'll see what the white male is capable of. And you're going to find out that if you keep pushing this country around, you'll find out that there's an ugly side to the white male that has been suppressed for probably 30 years right now, but it really has never gone away.[The Savage Nation, 8/20/09]

July 15, 2009 — Katherine Crabill (Republican candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates 99th District) makes headlines by calling on Americans to resist the course President Obama has set for the country. Appearing at a “Tea Party” rally “We have a chance to fight this battle at the ballot box before we have to resort to the bullet box. But that’s the beauty of our Second Amendment right. I am glad for all of us who enjoy the use of firearms for hunting. But make no mistake. That was not the intent of the Founding Fathers. Our Second Amendment right was to guard against tyranny.”

I used to worry that one of Savage's acolytes was going to attack Justice Ginsberg, the way he would go on and on about the vile things she was doing to the nation. The guy is a skilled rabble rouser.

What's wild is this will probably only get worse. These guys have mainlined the belief that their standard of living is only going to go up and up - Limbaugh holds as a sacred article of faith that we can grow our way out of any difficulty and plenty of people are singers in that choir. Endless growth is impossible. Especially the kind we've been into, heavily dependent on abundant and cheap natural resources.

There will be growth of various parts of the economy no doubt but I'm pretty sure it's not going to conform to the belief system of the huge body of people who think that Prager, Limbaugh, and Palin (for starters) are the light of the nation. And this sorry turn of events will have to be someone's fault - Savage will tell you that it's not the fault of "white male," the ones who aren't among the elite, anyway. Plenty of white males are going to concur with that.

They do now. See the OP.

But Skid Row Joe idolizes Micheal More:
'Mr. Tom: Yes. I internally debated last night whether making that comment was trolling, but, what Michael Moore found in the documentary was that ASPECTS of Cuba's healthcare system responded better than America's. Who am I to disagree with Mr. Moore? '
Personally, both sides are equally to blame on this. Yes, even Obama. In one sentance he will claim he wants to have open discusions, then starts to point fingers. It is hard to find how positions are incrogruent. Mainly, Latin/Hispanics. I think besides the immigration aspect, they would be more aligned to the Republicans values. Still, pointed out is the percentage of Liberals. What is the percentage of NEOCons? I don't see much good in either extreme. I see some good Democrats and some good Republicans. I think the middle ground is being fazed out in both parties.
Now on this particular event, the Left has played it well. Obamas confidence pols has risen drastically. I think he is over 50% at the moment. A far cry from a month before. I think he lucked into this one. Bohner crying on TV, didn't move me.

Following the Indiana/Wisconsin Basketball game last night, the Bar & Grill that I was at (no alcohol, just meat, taters and a "Dew") switched over to the "Bill O'Reilly Show" - it was the bartender's choice...I would have stayed with ESPN, but I was eating.

ANYWAYS...

One of the things I noticed out of the corner of my eye was a shot of some yakking lefty from MSNBC (or something...I couldn't make out the "bug" on the insert) and it was apparent that Bill was using the video clip as a basis for something on his show.

One thought.

Instead of bringing the opposite side of your argument to the forefront for others to see and hear, and POSSIBLY BE SWAYED TO THEIR SIDE OF THE ARGUMENT, why would you give valuable air-time to someone with such an opposing view from yours?

Better yet, not bringing them up AT ALL means that their message, however distasteful it may be for you, doesn't get the air-time it never deserved in the first place...AGAIN.

Maybe that's the ticket for the Right...shoot it once, bring it down, bag it, tag it, gut it and move on.

Let the Left beat the dead horse forever and ever...

The only problem with that then is...if it's repeated enough, then it must be true.

OK...I guess the fighters can head to their corners, and then, at the bell, come out a'swingin'!

Ad nauseum...

BTW: The Bears still suck! GO PACK!

Strange definition "genius"
The 2 of them were on LSD much of the time. Off in the land of the fairies. Psychotic states of mind!!
This typifies much of the logic that I am seeing.
I know the name of the song & unlike those as young as you, I was old enough to be able to understand what was going on when they wrote it.
