The Chevy Sonic turbo looks like fun, but I'm sure in real life it will be ridiculously small for a big sized person.

Not to change directions in this thread but.....has anyone seen the VW Full sized pickup? Not available here but pretty prevelant in Central America, mostly diesel. I could like that. Think they were called an Amarok (sic). Looked over a few of them last weekend.

Could be. The Renault Alliance was the MT 1980 car of the year. How did that work out? When is the last time you saw one?

I found these interior specs on some third-party websites: Sonic: Headroom: front: 38.7 (w/o sunroof) front: 37.6 (w/ sunroof) rear: 37.8 (w/o sunroof) rear: 37.8 (w/ sunroof)

While the current Passat is certainly not flaw-free, at least it has some euro character and an interior built out of good materials. To pull $7,500 out of the base price tells me that they've decontented the crap out of this thing from a technical spec and materials perspective. Bleh.

The sonic turbo only has a 1.4 liter engine? So much for the whole entire point of turbocharging the engine when it gets almost the same numbers as the NA 1.8. Again, I can think of many cars through the 1990s that put up better numbers and most likely get equivalent economy
