I saw that. Too bad it's not a diesel.

A few midwest winters and it's a $3500 truck.

Yeah, it's real cool and someone will probably pay $12k for it, but I'd be interested at around $7000.

I think it's funny that an 83 is considered old!! Having owned several of that vintage I would stay away from the carburated ones and get the fuel injected model (87 and up I think). The 6.2 diesel was a real turd and I wouldn't own another one if it was free.

That thing sure is purty! Looks like the only "electronics" are power locks. I'd rather have the cloth interior but some seat covers could do the trick.

I love the old square Blazers and Subs. In another year or two I'm going to start looking for a nice southern diesel Sub.

I know the 6.2 doesn't have a great rep but I had an '86 K1500 Suburban with the 6.2 and loved it. 4x4, three benches, cloth, AC (interestingly front only heat and AC, a bit chilly/warm in the back seats at times!), 18 mpg. The only issue I had with it was the cheesy aftermarket power moonroof. The heaviest I ever towed was my boat (3500 lbs. with the trailer) and it would pick up speed going uphill, heavier loads might really dog them down. It wasn't any slower than my N/A TD. It was a bit obnoxious with the dual exhaust and glasspacks, but kids will be kids.

The '92-'99 generation seem to be a lot better in that regard.

Actually, it's probably a good thing that it's NOT a diesel. GM passenger car and light truck diesels of that era left a lot to be desired in all categories.
