That looks like SA Thursday night/Friday morning of last week after a half-inch of freezing rain and snow.

Friday morning to get the six miles to work, I had to let the Jeep warm up for 20 minutes to help defrost the windshield while I scraped ice of the rest. I was probably the only person for a mile radius that had an honest-to-god ice scraper - guy parked two spots away from me in the apartment complex was using a spatula to scrape his windshield.

Put it in 4WD Part time (ie, locked up), Overdrive turned off, tranny selector in "2' instead of "D", and no faster than 20 mph on level ground. Made it in with no problems, even with some of the idiots trying to ice skate in 2WD RWD vehicles.

Stupid UTSA campus cops had wooden barriers put up at the entrances to the campus, as they'd been told the campus was shut down until noon. I had to drive up over the curb to get around the barriers. Couple of the campus cops in a Chevy S10 setting up the barriers saw me go four wheeling around thier barriers, and followed me to the thermal plant parking lot. They started off with WTF did I think I was doing, to turn around and go home, the campus was shut down until noon. They changed their tune when I told them I was the oncoming thermal plant operator, and if they wanted to have any heat until the roads cleared enough for their reliefs to come in, they'd best let me get on with doing my job.

So, my girlfriend was in St. Petersburg Russia 2 weeks ago. Huge amounts of snow on the ground. Her brother is taking her to the airport to come home and they pass a jacknifed tractor trailer off the road in a ditch. No one around to help. He tells her that no one comes out to help or patrol the roads. Things really bad there.
