they will put you on hold and make you wait if you call back.

Down here if some one did that we would find a pay phone & just keep dialing their number without putting money in. As soon as they answer it cuts out. It works well late at night, so when you are some place bored, try it. After a few hundred missed calls they get their act together.

reverse lookup thru white pages shows unpublished landline.but for a small 1.99 fee they will tell you the name of the person or place.
