Thumbs up Eden of the East...

Fellow anime fans, watch it if you haven't its really quite good.

In short its a terrorism/contest/James Bond type series. With a ton of very interesting plot twists and references to a terrorist attack on Japan known in the series as "Careless Monday".

12 contestants called Seleção are given really cool phones with a ton of money on them, that connect to an operator who can arrange just about anything for them. Say if they want to kill someone, or take over a branch of the government, or get a pizza. The point of the "game" is to figure out a way to improve Japan and get the NEET's involved in society; changing it for the better. If they run out of money without achieving this they are killed by an "enforcer", ie there is no way out of the game. The Seleção are chosen from all walks of life and are all pretty interesting.

Essentially it starts with the main protagonist waking up in a daze outside of the White House naked, not remembering anything, with just the phone and a gun.

Here is a sample, all the pop culture references to American movies are pretty cool to.

No brainer. The USA Air Force didnt finish the job well enough towards the end of WW2 !!

Foot note for the benefit of all.
This was a quotation from Bruce Ruxton, the past president of the Australian RSL (Returned Services League), this organization represents all of the returned service personnel in Australia & is not some political group. It has bi partisan support from our federal government. It is affiliated with similar organizations in the USA. He made the comment on behalf of all of its members.
It refers to the fact that at the end of WW2 as part of the surrender, Japan refused to apologize for the way that they had treated the Allie POW's.
It has taken over 50 years to obtain such an apology, that was finally given in the past few days to a small group of retired Australian soldiers who had been POW's. This has been widely reported in the media & if any one is interested I am happy to provide appropriate links.
It has long been believed that had a more aggressive approach been taken by The US Air Force, (not just with regard to 2 certain bombings), such an apology would have been forth coming at the surrender.
I have taken the liberty of providing our local branch RSL President with a copy of the notification of this and he asked that I foot note this.
He sees calling the above an "Inappropriate racist remark" as a "disgraceful insult" to the service personnel who did not come home from the POW camps, including US & Australian personnel. I believe that he intends to take the matter to the local branch executive, so that it can be taken to the national executive so that they may have the matter taken up by their US counter parts.
I am only providing this information like some one quotes a news report or blog.

Inappropriate racist remark tw

We tried. I got to meet one of the guys who was on the Boxcar a few years back, very cool guy, sadly probably dead by now. He was hanging out with his friend who was on Iwo Jima and was the unluckly SOB chosen to run back and retrieve the first flag they raised on Mt Suribachi, almost killed him. He never got "famous" because he was part of the first flag raising and the picture was taken of the 2nd. But he was almost blown to hell while bringing the first flag up the mountain. As he said and I quote as best as possible from my memory,"a Jap gunner saw me moving and decided to try to hit me. I ran from crater to crater but he kept walking the shells closer to me, and all of a sudden everything went dark and I was light, flying?! I woke up and I was covered in sand, and blood was pouring down my face, everything was messed up couldn't hear anything, I put the flag in my shirt to keep my blood off it. Luckily it was just some shrapnel, not to bad, and I was able to make it to the top of the mountain. I handed them the flag and they raised it."

Really cool guys, I will never forget meeting them total chance encounter, sadly I'm sure both have passed on by now.

Well it looks like the game show plans came to real life. One of the contestants must have arranged divine intervention!!

Yet another repulsive comment with White Supremicist undertones implying that the entire Japanese population should have been eliminated.
