Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway to buy chemical company Lubrizol in deal valued at $9 billion - AP

SR Joe, you're gonna have to go to the next B-H stockholders' meeting and tell Warren to take care of his shareholders who drive MB diesels, and make sure the Lubrizol products are compatible

Oh, I have to chime in on this one (since I'm a Berkshire shareholder). You see, the more the market price of Berkshire reflects its intrinsic value, the more willing I would be to sell some shares, and therefore the more able I would be to do stuff for my Benzes....or even buy more cars. That's the connection!

The last thing I want is for member(s) to cut and paste/tout BRK info in Diesel Discussion.

It came across the headlines on USA Today early this morning, ... hardly shareholder-only info.

Remember also that he has significant holding in a certain Chinese electric-car manufacturer. BRK has become just another stockholder company investing in whatever makes money (potentially, the Chinese one hasn't been doing very well as of late).

You can look it all up, even if you're not a shareholder, it's a public company.

Potential compatibility of Lubrizol products to diesels.

I don't know if they are compatible or not. However, if you want to move this, do so. Me da igual

I'll do it! Next time I see his Daughter Susan - I'll tell her to deliver the message to her Dad.

However, no, I didn't know a thing about this deal 'til I saw your thread. Deals take place with Berkshire-Hathaway over weekends though.

I haven't scoured the financials today, other than the highlights of the market.

This is news to me - I'll read-up on it a little later tonight.

Since Berkshire-Hathaway has about $40 billion dollars in cash reserves,
$9 billion dollars sounds like a healthy enough number to spend on any particular business.

Perhaps a little bit on the low side on his preferred size of acquisitions to me.

I'll get back to ya!

Berkshire-Hathaway is a definite 'BUY,' according to many.

MB 001-989-61-03 is good for making power steering pumps & differentials quieter.
And is made by Lubrizol (6178)!
