Yep, picking on a linebacker when you weigh 60lbs isnt a great plan. The kid will be fine. The big kid will be punished somehow I'm sure, but the little kid initiated it and made first contact. If I were the father of the bigger kid, I'd be proud. Nobody should take that kind of abuse without being expected to retaliate.
