A lot of those living in such areas were show-biz people who were techs and such. They sold their homes in LA and moved south, sort of re-creating 1960's California.

Might not be a bad deal for a retiree. I am sure there are lots of pretty sunsets.

not sure about now, but from what I remember they couldnt buy the property only lease it. Eventually when they get their beautiful house and landscape finished they may sudenly lose their lease......

as far as stickers on the car I never liked it, and Ive seen a darwin fish car with a key scratch down the side. assuming it was a Jesus fish guy that did it just makes it all the more worrisome

I don't care about politics, I would move to wherever the most opportunities can be found. That is how my ancestors ended up in the US, back when it was the "land of opportunity." I'm still doing OK, but my kids or grandkids will probably have to look for their opportunities elsewhere. It's just part of a cycle, nations normally rise and fall over the course of a few 100 years.
