It shouldn't surprise us. The 9/11 bombers were at a strip club shortly before they acted. The rage against the West is partly an internal rage against themselves due to their inability to resist sexual temptation when presented it by the West. Strict Muslim cultures don't allow men to develop internal controls for their sexual urges since control is done by the separation of men and women and the removal of women from public space. The argument against the chador is that it needs to be abolished and replaced with the bikini because it would require men who want to be chaste to develop internal controls of their own sexuality instead of removing women from public life as a means of achieving chastity.

When I was Catholic (about 1000 years ago), one of my Jewish friends used to refer to Catholicism as "guilt without sex." sounds like it applies to these guys too. Maybe that was also the deal with my Irish relatives, except they would usually just get drunk and forget to go blow things up.

I guess we need to get these guys drunk and laid.

Sexual repression as a culture would be a strong motivator to drive people to strap on a suicide vest. These people have nothing and no future. The 72 virgin thing seems appealing to them.

Glad you pointed that out. I read recently that it was a mistranslation, that "virgins" was actually "white grapes" or something. Have you any info on that?
