Is Rick Perry their next hopeful?

Perry will have to explain how the state of Texas, after ten years of Republicans controlling EVERY statewide elected office, is $27,000,000,000 in debt.

And that debt was run up in just the last two years.

Republicans are quick to blame Mexican immigrants but they change the subject when shown figures which prove fewer Mexicans are here now than were in Texas 10 years ago. Please note that the Hispanic population of Texas has grown quite a bit, but the growth came from Americans of hispanic background, some of whose families have been in the area when it was still Mexico, which is to say before 1836.

Perry also repeats the fable that Texas can pull away from the US whenever it wants to. That provision of statehood expired before the Civil War was fought, but Perry knows so little about the history of his own state he still thinks this is possible.

Rush Limbaugh has been pushing Perry for Prez, but all this proves is that Rush knows very little about Texas now or in the past.

A "fiscal conservative" phony for sure. How they can get away with these labels I just can't comprehend.

Same goes for our Governor Christie here in NJ. He gave a speech yesterday filled with nothing but misrepresented fact and flat out lies. And yet some still hail him as an upcoming GOP superstar. Fact is he's a 2 year rookie governor who's accomplished little besides enriching his wealthy business buddies and stifling the working middle class.

This is too bad. I see the Tea party as a reaction to main stream republicans who are not willing to put their power to the test and stand up for the constitution or the rule of law. Most republicans become as enamored of power and their cozy jobs in congress as democrats do. I consider myself a tea partier because I am willing to actually look at a candidate and not just vote for the R party. I don't see the tea party as a threat except to the status quo - which frankly could use a good threat now and then.
