By contribution do you mean you wish to state that you've bought a tanker truck to store all of your future needs?

I remember back during the Gulf Oil Crisis of the seventies, one of my parents' neighbors, a dentist, bought a diesel VW and had a 250 gallon tank buried at the end of their driveway and filled with diesel fuel. I always thought that was pretty cool.

Shoot didn't those get something like 50 MPG? That could last you an entire year

That would be pretty neat, but I bet I could burn through that in a month.

Plus, the way fuel prices have been going, I might lose money!

They dropped a bit in Texas lately...

Filled the CLK a week ago with 93 octane at $4.29/gal.

Same station, same 93 octane today @ $3.95/gal!

Can't believe I would be smiling at those prices!

Coming back from Los Angeles on Saturday I paid $3.94 a gallon at a truck stop in Livingston in Calif0rnia's central valley.

I can report authoritatively that it will cost you a LOT more per gallon than that in Beverly Hills around Wilshire, or Santa Monica Boulevard, though. A LOT more.

I was down in LA last weekend. I paid $4.39 for premium in Beverly Hills. Not too bad IMO. The same day, I paid $4.59 for premium at Harris Ranch.

But - if you only been there, and seen what we were doing... I left Sacramento Friday night with 50-60% of tread left on my rear tires. Got back to Sacramento on Monday, and had less than 5% of tread left on my rear tires... O_O Lets just say I left an impression on Santa Monica Blvd, Wilshire Blvd, and Rodeo Dr.
