Doesn't look like a Mercedes to me.. The grill looks odd, color is probably not a factory color scheme...
Something doesn't add up. I'm not well versed on the 50's era but all I can recall is after the war Mercedes could only really produce the 170 series in different trim until the gullwing and the other chasis(cant recall) was created

The worst part of the Daimler SP250 was that it wouldn't rot and return to the earth in typical English fashion, it was fiberglass (or maybe fibreglass).
