With the lights goin I dont think he was asking directions to the local Donut shop..

Long story short, nothing bad.

Got a few fix-it tickets... Cop said my tires were bald (running semi slicks, so they have no tread lol), window tint, exhaust modifications, license plates, vin verification....

davidmash 06-20-2011 06:09 PM

So you knew it was coming right? You just did not know when it was coming.

HuskyMan 06-20-2011 06:20 PM

just curious, what exhaust mods are we talking about?

Roger *THAT*;

Lucky for you that you didn't fai the ATTTUDE test.

And all that takes is ONE mean-assed LOOK.

They could MURDER you wit their gun.

And then get away with it>

How?

"OH. I thought he was going for his gun. So. I. KILLED. Him."

Works every time.

Well *ALMOST* every time.

Fodney King was lucky.

Oh man what a scofflaw.

At least thy didn't pop you for the tone o your HORN being with the WRONG tone;

Or your windshield wipers being PARKED wrong.

Offensd those delicate Police sensibilities, ya know.

I got stopped and pulled over in the Napa Valley wine country by a stupid CHHP officer who told me:

"We don't like references to ALCOHOL on cars, around here."

I swear to dog that is what he said. to me , he harrassed for habving THIS sticker on the window of my 2008 Outback by some damned CHP officer up in the Napa Wine Country 3 years ago

http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...1/IMG_0164.jpg

And another one, who is probably constipated 24 hours a day (He actually LOOKED like a real oink oink barnyard PIG!!!) wrote me for THIS front lidcense plate on the Mercedes.

Did you know that all that bullcrap you got wrote up for, - you have to correct it all AND for EACH one, pay the State o California a $30 "Administrative fee" for the privilege of scraping off your window tinnt, putting on a front plate, etc.?

And don't do THIS in front of them too much. It annoys them.

@Jim B: HAHA! Love that license plate. And are you serious about a cop stopping you for that?

I got written up once for my EU plate up front. The lady cop was pretty rude, but maybe I'm being too sensitive. The administrative fee is BS and so is the parking fee to drive up the parking space so that an officer can check for corrections. Eh, I'm just whining.

I just put my legal CA plate over the EU plate with some wires and left it at that. Never bothered to remove it after that.

retmil46 06-20-2011 10:38 PM

Ahhh yes, nothing like a little municipal revenue enhancement courtesy of the local LEO's.

Dee8go 06-21-2011 10:42 AM

Well, I hope you took a swing at him just to let him know you weren't going to be intimidated by him just because he had a badge . . .

CA among other states requires a front license plate so yes he did get written up for it but not because the cop did not like it.

HuskyMan 06-21-2011 11:21 AM

IMHO, it is best to remove any and all bumperstickers, cutsie license plates, etc etc due to the aforementioned incident. Cops don't have much of a sense of humor as well as other parties may not like what is being said. think "vanilla" and life can be smooth....... Same thing for shirts bearing the name of a sports team, political signs and/or bumper stickers, etc etc.

Stand for nothing, be sensitive to your neighbor's needs and wants.

You gotta be kiddin' me. The cops I have known in my 30 year career have the greatest sense of humor of all. You have no idea how many laughs we get at the expense of the dumb ass civilian population. You joke about us eatin' donuts then you go around acting stupid and wonder why you get a ticket or locked up. I could tell stories for days...like the guy who robbed a bank and wrote the hold-up note on the back of a deposit slip...HIS deposit slip!

And yes, I eat donuts each and every day, even in retirement!

Please correct me if I misread Jim's post.... from the post above it appears that Jim B was stopped in two different incidents related to the bumper sticker and license plate displayed on his car. IMHO, CHHP along with the state they patrol represents a different mind set and rules than other parts of the country......

iwrock 06-21-2011 12:37 PM

Ehhh, this officer did not seem to pleased with me....

I think it was a case of nice car, bad day... :(

The cops I have dealt with in the past all seemed to be pretty interested in my car... Older C-Class with a V8 seems to peak their curiosity. Not to mention one that has been modded with taste.

My favorite was the police officer that said he would like to run my AMG in his Mustang!

HuskyMan 06-21-2011 12:43 PM

I met a man a while back who owns a supercharged Alfa Romeo. He said when a cop pulls up next to him at a traffic light, the sound of the supercharger attracts a lot of unwanted attention. Again, drive a Buick or Oldsmobile that needs a paint job and life can be smooth as silk........think vanilla.
