I can, why? I don't anymore since I write to fill up forms and I want it to be PERFECTLY clear. I do write cursive when I want to make the note as ambiguous as possible.

If you change from cursive to printing it may that you encountered a word you are not used to write. It is also possible that you concentration is a little bit less when you write printing. Forcing to write letters may help to make sure that what you are writing is what you are supposed to.

Writing in print also leaves less room for errors when reading back

Thanks, there may be more than a grain of truth in that.
No, the check is not in the mail.

Akli, If I were the HR manager at a company and a grown man applied for a job and filled out his application with 3rd. grade writing I would wonder about his competence. Granted a lot of today's communication is done on the computer but there are times, as when writing a thank you note, that being able to write legibly is important.

When I want to be perfectly clear, I print or write neat cursive but when you want to be vague, cursive is a good subterfuge. Take the time you answered "T" or "F". You make it look so misleading that it could be either t or f depending on what was the right answer. Not that I would ever do that.

In that situation, one might also question your competance as an HR manager, unless a specific requirement for the position was competence in cursive writing.

Recently I had to write something and realized I had forgotten how to write some letters in cursive.
It was a significant day in my youth when the class put down it's pencils and were handed Biros. We had graduated to the pen.

I had to graduate from using the chinese brush pen first to the pencil.

Just to be clear here-you like forms filled out in cursive? I'm in the Navy and we never ever do that. What they teach in boot camp is block letters and all caps, and don't forget that a zero has a slash through it. In the operational units, they generally aren't that strict, but cursive on a Navy form (except for signatures) is not going to be received well.
