The early grinders were built so well you could have easily gotten the rest of your life usage from one when only used occassionaly. Just luck of the draw you will not.

I grabbed a battery charger awhile ago at a yard sale after the guy quoted it was still working okay. Well he either did not know or lied. Luck of the draw in my world.

I save so much generally from buying a lot of items used that meet my periodic needs. Just water under the bridge as on average I stay well ahead of the curve. The majority of new merchandise seems to trend towards just very disposable in nature. Unless you pay a lot.

Phoned the fellow I bought it from and explained the situation -he graciously offered to take it back. I told him to just give me back $20, since I did use it a bit, so there is some benefit here. Glad he offered to take it back... don't think the Pawn Shop would. Those guys are sharks...
